Other people in the cinema - a good thing (or a bad one)?
Find out what 1,000 of our members thought in the Cinema Society survey from SPARK!

We conduct an annual survey among The Cinema Society members to evaluate our performance and gain insights into their cinema-going habits.

The findings are shared with clients and cinemas and are accessible to anyone interested in public cinema trends and their implications.

Our members were asked:

What are the worst things about a trip to the cinema?

Respondents could select multiple options.

59%

Cost is certainly a concern for cinema-goers, especially amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. However, more tangible factors like uncomfortable seats and negative experiences before the movie, likely at the kiosk or in the foyer, also deter people.

Unfortunately, another frequently mentioned issue was other people, a factor beyond our control and that of the cinemas!
